The title of my post says it all – one could scream at Tom’s palette, the little ice-cream parlor located at Beach road in Singapore, on reading its unique and original flavors like mango sticky rice, green tea, durian, salted egg, etc. However they do also have an extensive array of the usual flavors like chocolate, coffee, tiramisu, hazelnut, strawberry, pink guava, blueberry cheesecake, salted caramel cheesecake, etc
Ice creams come in 3 sizes: Small (S$3.20), Medium (S$4) and Large ($5) in which you can combine 2 or more flavors. The good part is that the team at Tom’s palette helps you choose your flavors giving you suggestions on which combinations will go well in your ice-cream cup with unlimited tasting.
We chose 2 flavors in a large ice-cream cup: “Granny’s favorite” (containing chocolate, malt and cookie dough) and “Berry mix” (containing berries and chocolate pops).
Tom’s palette is hidden away among the many shops in the Shaw Tower building on Beach Road, Singapore (Yes the same place that has Sofra Turkish cuisine and Jade movie theatre). It has been serving homemade ice cream since Sept 2005 and owing to its anniversary this September, it will be serving new unique flavours like red wine and red currant sorbet, strawberry sorbet, durian, mango sticky rice to name a few along with its original line as well. Also they have a new flavour each month. The ice cream parlour claims to serve ice creams made of milk, sugar, eggs and cream and does not use any stabilizers. They also serve freshly baked waffles with ice cream.
It also holds ice cream making classes and at the time of writing this post there was a class scheduled for 23-sep-2012 at S$60.00 per pax which included a free ice cream buffet as well.
