I have been meaning to write about Truffs for a while – A true chocolate lover’s paradise in Singapore. The website describes it as “Luscious. Fresh.Handmade” – and true to these words the chocolate truffles they make are so fresh along with the best chocolate in the world.
Truffs is located in one of those charming shop houses on the first floor at Telok Ayer Street in the CBD area of Singapore . In fact I first visited Truffs back in 2010 when they had just opened up a few months back. The person behind Truffs , chocolatier Teng Ei Liang, actually made his signature chocolate cake in front of us. Besides the cake that we gobbled up, we were also served with wonderful hot chocolate (not the kinds with cocoa powder in them) along with their hand made truffles. The chocolate just melts in your mouth and is just so warm and fresh.
The truffles come in 3 varying amounts of the dark chocolate at 55%, 66% and 70%. None of the stuff they serve has any artificial coloring or preservatives and they use the purest and finest of chocolate.
So a few weeks back I strolled along to Truffs on a hot Saturday afternoon with a friend of mine. They now have a cafe where they serve hot and cold chocolate drinks, their hand made chocolate truffles as well as few coffee drinks. We tried out their iced chocolate since it was so hot outside. And yes it was one of the best chocolate drinks I have ever had. The decor in the cafe was lovely – minimalistic, white and classy. Totally loved it. They had a shelf with some chocolate books and recipes and it was great reading one of them while sipping on the cool drink. So relaxed, quiet and comfortable. As far as the prices go it is a little on the expensive side but if you want true , fresh chocolate stuff then this is perhaps the best in Singapore.
Here are the details of its location and opening hours. More info on their website: http://www.truffs.com.sg/
